CHAMPIONS!
FEBRUARY 7 @AUGUSTA
(STATES)
CHAMPIONS!!
WITH 7 INDIVIDUAL
STATE CHAMPS!

Adam Turner   0-4   ONLY NON VARSITY
WRESTLER THAT COMPLETED THE
SEASON!

Steph Hayslip              1st female from Lisbon
ever to win a match at the State
Tournament.   Steph placed 3rd last year and
2nd this year in the girls State
Championships.

Forrest Cornell            42-8           22 pins
HULK AWARD WINNER   ICE MAN  BEATING
up on the Wells biggest nightmare.,  Forrest
won the all star tournament by beating
Vanya.....Forrest won his second state title as
a sophomore.   QUOTE:  "Is that kid really
112?"

Josh Pomerleau          40-9          HULK
AWARD   21 pins  JOSH IS GREAT ON HIS
FEET.  PHOTOGENIC AND GREAT
TECHNIQUE.  No one trains harder than
Josh.  Josh has become one of the best in
one of the toughest wt. classes in the state
this year.   Josh turned a lot of heads by
beating top quality wrestlers like Ken Hagen
of Noble, Lepage of Massebessic and Bean
of  Mt. Mansfield.  Because of his work eithic
and drive, he is most likely to be a NEW
ENGLAND CHAMPION

Mike McNamara         50-9          26 pins
HULK AWARD    Mike McNamara  has
established himself this year as the # 2
wrestler behind a senior Toussaint of
Deering.   Toussaint placed 2nd in NEs  Mike
makes it no secret that he hates wrestling
practice, I know this because he expresses it
every day.    However, he pushes himself to a
higher level each time he steps on the mat.
Mike winning the Noble Tourney was  one of
many  highlights this season.

Matt Nicholson             38-12      21 pins
Matt is the fourth wrestler in the best
foursome in the state.  No team has a
rotation like our 112-130.     Matt cruises to
success when he is going for it. Halfway
through the season Matt injured his ankle
and wrestled on one leg.   Matt will own his
wt. classes his jr. and sr. year.   Especially
since he went to the 30 day intensive
wrestling camp this summer!

Mike McManus             31-18           17 Pins
Mike qualified for 119 this season but ended
up wrestling 140 at the state tourney.  He
was outsized and over powered.  Mike knew
that we needed him up at a higher wt. class
to benefit the team.    Mike Placed in the State
Tournament each of his three years of
wrestling.   I do not believe Lisbon has  had
anyone who loved the sport of wrestling more
than Mike.  He scored high in all the
tournments and made it to the finals at the
Merrimack tourney.   Mike practiced with the
Middle School every day and passed on a lot
to the younger kids coming up.

Cameron Graf                7-21          4 Pins
Cam never missed a practice this season.
He was dedicated to our team.  He got the
experience wrestling on Varisity this season,
which will be a benefit when he steps on the
mats next season.

Marcus Bubar             42-13  18 Pins
Marcus made him self the talk of the state by
beating Richardson at the all star tourney.
This win was important since many coaches
were thinking that Class C was inferior in the
145 lbs class and that the top three were
EON, RICHARDSON and GAUTHIER.  This
gave Marcus the respect he deserved.

Kyle Huston                  41-11         21  Pins
HULK AWARD  Kyle  was confident and
poised no matter what his competition.   Kyle
forced his opponents to make mistakes, then
he would capitalize on them.  Mostly
defensive, has amazing leverage and
balance.

Jon Gamache                14-16  7 Pins
SPLADLE with 30 seconds left at the  NOBLE
TOURNEY

Cameron Bubar            46-7           33 pins
HULK AWARD  100 wins  Placed 1 or 2nd in
every  tournament this year.

Art Stambach                43-12  29 pins
HULK AWARD

Joe Doughty       52-4   HULK AWARD  30
pins .  JOE DOUGHTY WON EVERY
TOURNAMENT ENTERED THIS SEASON
EXCEPT NEs.  ALL TIME HIGH OF 52 wins in
a single season.  Joe has an estimated 95
wins in his HS career.  Joe’s was interviewed
by BOB MCPHEE.

Dan Schofield                 31-7               16      12
weeks  of wrestling  HAILEYS COMET
